Still In Windows
University is a very surreal existence… especially in Cambridge. Since they quite happily send you back home after a mere 8 weeks of term… you end up spending about ½ the year at home, and ½ at uni.
Where am I going with this? Well, apart from the fact that you never really settle in any one place fully, I have found that I never really settle in an Operating System. Windows suits my needs when I am at home and all I have is a dial-up connection, while Linux allows me to make full use of the 100Mbit network available at Uni. I keep toying with the idea of running two systems with a KVM, but somehow this doesn’t seem much better than dual booting. Maybe over the summer I shall play around with networked filing systems et al. I’m sure there is a solution out there. Somewhere…
