As summer was drawing to a close, Junko and I joined Yusuke, Satoko, Pavlos, and Michi in attending the Luno Festival on Donauinsel.

The festival offered a spectacular collection of Chinese and European landmarks portrayed in light, including—amongst others—the Temple of Heaven, and the Wiener Staatsoper. The evening also included the first performance I’ve seen of the mask dance outside of China, accompanied by the (sadly memorable) music.
